Watch on Go Wisdom ↗Every time the RBI changes the repo rate, your loan EMI eventually feels it. Here's the short version.
The repo rate is the interest rate at which the Reserve Bank of India lends short-term funds to commercial banks. When it rises, borrowing becomes costlier for banks, and that cost is usually passed on to customers through higher loan interest rates. When it falls, loans tend to get cheaper. It's one of the RBI's main tools for controlling inflation.
